PANTARUL restaurant

Please come in and make yourself at home!
The space of 130m² has been designed like someone's home, and with this concept is divided into 4 zones;
1st zone - hallway "kenova" (kenova is local expression for  greeting like what’s up)
2nd zone - classic-restaurant dining area "vrijeme objeda" (expression for lunch time)
3rd zone - living room where they serve snacks, wine by the glass and cakes called "nešto slatko" (meaning something sweet - "I’d like something sweet" is popular culinary blog run by one of the restaurant owners)
4th zone - more private dining area which follows the concept of garden and is designed to host larger groups of people at one table, and it’s called "puna trpeza" (local expression for full and rich table)
Zones are primarily coded with different types of furniture, but more important with different kind and type of lighting. Lighting that is used in the dining area is like a spotlight focused entirely on food, in the lounge area light is diffused and soft, appropriate for snacks with coffee, cake and a chat, and at the separe area light is designed regarding to lighting decoration of garden party.
"Walls" between the zones are designed as a wooden dividers, fixed on the vertical axis. Rhythm of positive and negative space partitions makes the impression of privacy without disturbing concept of open space.
Feels like home idea was the guiding principle, and everything in design process went in that direction - that guest should feel comfortable and welcome. We used standard construction materials - wood and cement as two basic textures, and details such as window glass wall in the kitchen or shelves with cook books that anyone can browse through comfortably seated in the lounge area. Combining different types of dining room chairs painted with defined brand color softens the impression of rawness in used materials.
The interior is spiced with striking and cheerful illustrations by Ana Žaja Petrak.
